Job Description.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing administrative services to the employees of the United States Attorney's Office, Middle District of Louisiana. Typical work assignments will include:

Serving as the principal advisor to the District on administration, providing guidance on the management and use of the District's financial, manpower, and physical resources, and on administrative policies, practices, and procedures.

Supervising a subordinate staff of administrative, technical and clerical personnel.

Overseeing recruitment and placement activities to include analyzing projected manpower requirements and developing short and long-range plans.

Forecasting, preparing, and justifying budgetary requirements for funds.

Planning and providing for all management services and office support functions in the district.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Required Qualifications.

Conditions of Employment

You must be a United States Citizen or National.

Background investigation, credit check, and drug test required.

You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.

If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.

You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.

If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously.

Qualifications

GS-13:

In order to qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as the ability to manage administrative programs, e.g., budget and finance administration; human resources administration; information management; and/or contracting/acquisition.

Selective Placement Factor: A selective placement factor is determined to be essential for successful performance in this position. Those candidates who do not meet the following selective placement factor will be rated "not qualified" for the position.

Ability to manage at least ONE administrative program area at the federal, state, or local level, or in the private sector as described below:

A Human Resources (HR) program that delivers the full range of HR services (e.g., staffing, classification, employee benefits, pay administration, performance management), OR

A Financial Management program that includes budget, accounting, or auditing operations, OR

A Contracting/Acquisitions program that includes contract negotiation/administration, OR

An Information Technology/Telecommunications program that includes handling or overseeing a local area network or wide area network.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
