Job Description.

Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women (SVABW) is an organization focused on providing resources and support to victims who find themselves in a violent relationship. SVABW was founded by a woman who escaped this situation and was driven to build an organization that’s mission is focused on lending help to women looking to start a new life. The organization provides services including a crisis line, court advocacy, safe homes, and support groups for upwards of 700 women annually. SVABW prides itself on being creative, innovative, proactive, and team oriented all with an emphasis on serving a population in need. As a leader in this organization the individual will work side-by-side with the Executive Director to assist with new grants and program management, while focusing on managing and developing the day-to-day activities of the team.

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Leadership/Management:

Manage all SVABW programs that assist victims of domestic violence, provide fee-based services, and engage community members in education and prevention Develop, monitor, manage and evaluate program goals, objectives and achievements.

Manage, mentor and develop program staff using a supportive, mutually respectful, and collaborative Work with individual staff to set personal goals and benchmarks and manage ongoing performance.

Community Involvement: Network with local, county, state-and nation-wide domestic violence programs.

Serve on relevant advisory councils and boards in Scott and Carver Partner with people-serving organizations working together to meet the needs of our communities.

Stay abreast of legislative issues pertaining to domestic violence and build relationships to support and enhance services for victims of domestic violence.

Partner with the Executive Director to conduct the annual Strategic and Operational planning process for the development of integrated operating objectives and Develop the fiscal year staff plan of work, assess progress to achieve goals and objectives, and prepare status reports.

Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations to funders, systems personnel, law enforcement, and community members as requested.

Provide back up to the Executive Director when requested.

Program Management:

Manage program evaluation process. Collect and record on-going monthly program service statistics and submit them to the Executive Review program statistics, feedback, and evaluations annually to analyze and measure program effectiveness. Discuss results and make recommendations to the Executive Director for program enhancements.

Manage the i’ M* o' *K . Children’s Visitation Center program including program development, coordination of services, operations, and staffing.

Develop program budgets and manage effectively within the Oversee, monitor and track program grants and expenditures including Direct Client Assistance (DCA). Report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.

Operations/Administration:

Manage and deliver human resource services including assisting in the hiring process, employee orientation/training, benefit administration, compensation administration, Ensure compliance with associated government regulations.

Ensure all victims of domestic violence seeking assistance from SVABW are promptly served in accordance with SVABW’s objectives.

Oversee development and day-to-day management and maintenance of information systems including Salesforce victim case, volunteer resource, and donor management databases.

Provide back up support to all services provided by SVABW including involvement in special events, crisis line, civil and criminal court advocacy.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field, with a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience directly managing staff.

Demonstrated ability to effectively influence, motivate and supervise staff to accomplish organizational goals and operating objectives.

Direct experience managing programs within a non-profit organization.

Experience in program development, including designing and implementing outcome measurements, creating funding, and resource management.

Strong organizational skills, including ability to plan for, implement, track, and evaluate programs and staff participation in those programs.

Ability to analyze data and create and deliver meaningful reports that can drive outcome based decisions/actions.

Advanced communication Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. Mastery of negotiation skills, problem/conflict resolution and developing respectful and productive relationships across the organization, volunteers, victims, and alliances.

Proficient in Microsoft office including Word, Excel and database management (e.g. Salesforce)

Ability to properly handle and maintain confidential information.






Physical Aspects of the Job:



Means of self-transportation. Valid driver’s license. Proof of meeting Minnesota requirements regarding auto registration and automobile liability insurance.

This work necessarily involves lifting and carrying boxes and other loads up to 20 pounds.

This work necessarily involves sitting for extended periods of time, looking at a computer monitor, and keyboarding.

This work necessarily involves the ability to go up and down stairs.

Willingness to maintain the standards, carry out the purpose, and adhere to the policies of SVABW.

Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence and civil and criminal court systems.

Perform work duties and responsibilities with a sensitivity to the needs of a multi-racial/ethnic/ cultural population and commitment to exceptional customer service.

Ability to organize, plan and implement multi-faceted work load and meet deadlines; effectively identify, analyze, and solve problems.

Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a Comfortable stepping in when needed to perform a variety of tasks.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Hands on experience working with Salesforce or similar database tools.
