Bilingual Community Organizer (Orlando Area)
Job Description.
Faith in Florida (FIF) is seeking a Bilingual Community Organizer in Osceola and Orange County to teach community-organizing skills to grassroots community leaders within religious congregations and empowering them to conduct successful campaigns on a wide variety of issues on the local, regional, and national levels.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the work of social change and a commitment to their own development and growth. He or she will be responsible for reaching out and developing relationships with multi-faith congregations in the Orlando metropolitan area; primarily congregations that have significant Hispanic constituencies.

Job Responsibilities:
Conduct 10-15 one-on-one meetings each week with faith and community leaders
Provide regular organizing training for FIF participants in the principles and strategies of congregation-based community organizing
Support FIF congregational teams in outreach, research, and strategic planning leading to large community action meetings that impact systemic change
Provide support and strategic guidance around campaigns goals that participating congregations decide upon

Qualifications:
We’re seeking candidates who excel in relationship-building, are results-oriented, and have strong management skills. You should have:
Solid understanding of one's own faith journey and a strong sense of power
Ability to connect, engage, and inspire community members across multiple cultures
Capacity to think strategically and analytically about social, economic, cultural, and political issues affecting a community.
Ability to work as part of a strong staff team as well as independently
Relevant previous organizing experience (Community, Labor, Voter) and familiarity with the Roman Catholic Church structure and social teaching are both plusses but are not requirements.
