The Outreach Coordinator is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of all marketing and communications materials for United Way of Mat-Su (UWMS). This position works with United Way staff to develop communications materials, including key campaign pieces, event collateral, community impact initiative communications, press-releases, e-communications, social media marketing and communications, and website communications. Develops strong relationships, year-round public relations, and advertising strategies that foster the community s understanding of United Way s mission. The Outreach Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining consistency with UWW s brand and graphic standards. Position also responsible for coordinating and assisting in UWMS s year-round events. Events and engagement experiences are a means to deliver United Way's strategic message, increase community awareness and engagement, execute community-level strategies, cultivate and recognize donors and to mobilize volunteers. The Outreach Coordinator assists with the strategic planning and timely execution of all events and special engagement experiences. This position also serves as staff for the Early Childhood Partnership of Mat-Su, Thrive Mat-Su, the Alaska Wellness Coalition, and provides administrative support for UWMS as needed. Position requires strong verbal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to recruit and manage volunteers and work with diverse sectors of the community.

Requires skill in multi-tasking, meeting deadlines and performing under pressure. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Project management skills.

One to two years communications or public relations experience preferred; Manage relationships with community partners, community investors and community programs and serves as liaison between them and committees. Prior non-profit experience preferred.
