Job Description.

Note: This position is grant funded through VOCA.
Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty coordinating public programs; performs related work as assigned.
Typical Duties

Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, promotes and evaluates community based programs
Assures program contract or regulatory compliance
Maximizes donations and exercises responsible expenditure decisions
Oversees care and maintenance of assigned facilities and/or vehicles and equipment
Involves clients in decision making
Refers clients to other support services as appropriate
Advocates on behalf of clients
Provides support and advocacy to program participants
Investigates and resolves client complaints
Prepares and maintains records and reports
Coordinates and collaborates with community-based organizations, public agencies, coalitions, schools and other appropriate facilities to implement programs
Interprets guidelines and rules
Prepares and disseminates informational program materials
Prepares and present training for advocates
Must be willing to travel within the State of Arizona as needed
May participate in the development and administration of program budget
May coordinate fund raising events
May oversee care and maintenance of assigned facilities and/or vehicles and equipment
May write grants to develop new funding sources
May participate in the recruitment of volunteers, practicum students and interns
May supervise and train assigned personnel, including front line staff, student employees, interns and/or volunteers, and support staff
Essential functions of this position include: driving; working with and around others including staff, program partners and agencies; working alone; dealing with interruptions; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation.
Required Qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications
Sixty semester hours of post high school course work in public/business administration, or a related field within subject area, and two years of administrative experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Preferred Qualifications.
Preferred qualifications include a degree in social work or counseling, experience in Juvenile Court, child welfare or related experience; demonstrated skill in management of a diverse population of volunteers; experience in promoting a program and recruiting volunteers.
