The Program Associate will contribute to the strengthening of Arkansas families by helping adults and youth reach their full potential by developing contributing adults. Through leadership programming with 4-H members statewide, youth and adults will take a vested interest in civil discourse and service learning. Job Duties Serve as a resource for timely and relevant information for Extension 4-H youth and adult volunteer programs. Coordinate and/or develop and maintain written and web‐based support materials appropriate for the 4-H youth development program. Carry out objectives for grants & maintain current records as such. In conjunction with appropriate administration, aide in developing and providing training materials to enhance Extension’s 4-H youth development public, political and funding support. Collaborate with state specialists, county educators, volunteers, and youth to provide statewide educational experiences. Stay current regarding state and national legislation, as well as all needs, issues and trends in volunteer management and prepare situational data as a basis for program development. Involve Extension colleagues, faculty, clientele groups and others in identifying educational program priorities. Create annual written impact reports related to 4-H programming efforts and provide ongoing media efforts highlighting Extension. Perform other duties as assigned.

A Bachelor’s degree in youth development or related area with three years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree, is required. Demonstrated competence to independently manage programs is required. Ability to speak & write clearly & communicate ideas successfully. Ability to organize, plan, & prioritize work. Ability to attend to details while simultaneously handling multiple projects. Ability to analyze, interpret, & apply relevant regulations, policies, & procedures. Initiative to learn & maintain current knowledge in area of assignment. Physical & mental ability to effectively perform duties & responsibilities related to the job, which may include long & irregular hours of work.
