Community Involvement Coordinator
Develop community involvement plan with Church Relations Director and establish steps to achieve goals.
Act as community involvement liaison with National and local community.
Coordinate and facilitate community informational meetings on a regular basis inviting the public to learn more about and ways to get involved with Olive Crest.
Network with volunteers for special assignments (outside meetings, resource fairs, luncheons, club meetings, etc.).
Recruit, coordinate and manage office and program volunteers/interns.
Coordinate and organize giving campaigns to support Olive Crest families:
‘Be the Miracle’ Holiday Gift Campaign
Back to School Backpack Campaign
Valentines Day cards
Thanksgiving Baskets * Create and maintain volunteer/intern policies, procedures, best practices, filing, tracking and monthly reporting.
Continually assess and update volunteer needs and volunteer tracking.
Responsible for tracking volunteer hours and information in Raiser’s Edge.
Monitor, recruit, and organize in-kind donations.
Process gift-in-kind donations and maintain GIK storage facility.
Participate and assist in coordinating foster family events.
Coordinate and track incoming Mattress Firm funds.
Organize and promote Annual Mattress Firm Pajama Bowl.
Assist with the content in eNews and Newsletters for development team.
AA Degree and 6 months additional relevant work experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills and computer skills.
Detail oriented and strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
Energetic, friendly, resourceful, team work approach and strong with follow-through.
Can work independently and can problem-solve.
Adaptable to changing environment.
Excellent customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record as required by Olive Crest’s insurance carrier.
Reliable vehicle and current proof of automobile insurance.
Adequate written and oral communication skills.
First Aid/CPR/HIV certification.
Must have 2 hours of blood borne pathogens training in the past 5 years.
Criminal record clearance.
A philosophy of support for at-risk children and families in line with the mission, vision, values, and statement of faith of Olive Crest.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or 1 year additional relevant experience.
Prior experience with volunteer coordination, community involvement, and community engagement activities.
Marketing and events planning experience is a plus.
