Job Description.
The Director of Government Affairs will work side-by-side with the Chamber’s President and CEO coordinating the business advocacy efforts of the Chamber by working with member businesses, community stakeholders, state, local and federal government as well as the media; take responsibility for oversight/management of two Divisions-Business Advocacy Division and BizPAC, the Chamber’s political action committee; assist the President/CEO with other initiatives and policies that affect our organization. In addition, event coordination and planning is important.
Required Qualifications.
top candidates will likely have three-five years successful background in public policy and governmental affairs with proven results; must illustrate proficient skills in policy research and analysis; background in political campaigns and PAC fundraising; solid experience in media relations and making position statements before elected officials, and other leadership bodies; local and statewide knowledge of the political environment an asset. In addition, must be willing to assist the President and CEO on other duties as assigned.

Significant professional experience in public policy advocacy, research and analysis, coalition building, media relations
