Communications Coordinator-Government Relations
Job Description.
The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking a Communications Coordinator or Communications Supervisor to support its government relations program, including policy development and monitoring legislative activity.
Required Qualifications.
Work requires a Bachelor’s degree in political science, public relations, public administration or related field. At least one year of job-related experience. Experience working with elected officials desired. Experience reading, interpreting, writing and analyzing legislation and rulemaking desired
Preferred Qualifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Publisher and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented, organized, creative, and ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines. Knowledge and understanding of federal and Texas legislative processes. Knowledge and understanding of transportation legislative issues desired. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
