Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Coral Gables operates under a commission/manager form of government and is well known for its active and involved citizenry. The Labor Relations Analyst performs assignments of considerable difficulty requiring the exercise of initiative and independent judgment in drafting, interpreting and implementing rules, regulations, policies, procedures and collective bargaining contracts. Participates as a member of the City's collective bargaining team during contract negotiations, drafts contract language proposals and/or administrative documents and reports, and applies knowledge of the collective bargaining contracts, Chapter 447, Florida Statutes, federal, state and local employment laws. Works effectively and directly with city-wide department management and supervisory personnel to provide guidance and direction on discipline, grievance and union contract/personnel policy matters. Conducts labor management training and specialized or department-tailored labor relations training classes. Assists with workers' compensation claims management as well as liability claims management. Assists with the implementation and administration of the City's safety program.
Required Qualifications.
Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, public administration, business administration, or related field from an accredited college.
Minimum five (5) years related work experience in human resources. Two (2) years of related experience in labor relations preferred.
Valid Florida Driver's License.
