Job Description.

Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is seeking to hire an experienced Public Relations Specialist to join our dynamic Executive and Tribal Services Division! The Public Relations Department holds an innovative teamwork environment that fosters and relies on the creativity of each other's ideas to collaborate, create and develop positive interactions with SCF and all of its customers. SCF is an Alaska Native-owned, nonprofit health care organization located on the Alaska Native Health Campus serving nearly 65,000 Alaska Native and American Indian people (customer-owners) living in Anchorage, Matanuska-Susitna Valley and 55 rural villages. Public Relations Specialist: The right candidate will be dynamic in verbal and written communication, have experience in creating and posting social media content and function well within a team environment. The candidate will also have experience with various software including InDesign, Word Press and Microsoft Office Suite. Daily Duties and Expectations: • Write, review and edits drafted works for publication and distribution to our internal and external customers. • Assist in planning, coordinating and executing at least 11 corporate events and assist SCF departments with organizational events. • Assist with coordinating site visits which include supporting guests, presentations, tours, media, photography, etc. • Work with a unique Public Relations Department where most functions are performed in-house and not contracted out. • Work with all departments throughout SCF and foster relationships with leadership, staff and external customers. • Act as a lead Event Planner on large corporate events, communicating with vendors, negotiating contracts, creating event agenda, coordinating presenters' schedules and assigning work duties to team. • Ensure events are in line with allocated funding. • Acts as a contributing editor for large publications ensuring content and production standards are met.
