Provides legal advice to DDOK and participates in major legal actions in conjunction with outside counsel. Responsible for foreseeing and protecting DDOK against legal risks and interpreting applicable law and the judicial decisions based on the law. To represent DDOK in all matters dealing with state and federal law, to ensure legal compliance and to fulfill the role of Chief Privacy Officer. Accountable for the management and the direction of the Compliance and Governmental Affairs Department.

Must hold a three-year Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and be licensed to practice law in Oklahoma.

Must have at least two years of management experience

Must have at least three years of legal experience as an attorney

Extensive knowledge of Insurance Laws

Knowledge of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act)

Knowledge of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)

Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:

MBA designation

Knowledge of state legislative functions
