Job Description.

The Alumni Engagement and Events Coordinator is responsible for the management of the University’s alumni engagement efforts designed to cultivate more purposeful, meaningful, and impactful relationships with its alumni. The Coordinator oversees the process of strengthening the University’s alumni special event programs including regional alumni and reunion/affinity programs, on campus events such as alumni weekend and alumni leadership weekend, and other University related activities. The Coordinator must have a passion for HPU and enjoy participating in University sponsored activities and programs. Required Qualifications.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required; A degree from HPU preferred.
Experience and Training:

One plus years of experience in alumni engagement, advancement, event planning or experience in marketing, sales or public relations, supplemented by experience as an employee or volunteer for a not-for-profit institution.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of database research and maintenance.
Ability to work with and manage volunteers of all ages.
Discretion and ability to interact with high-level donors.
A passion for HPU and participating in HPU related activities and programs
Essential Functions:

Plan, direct and execute all alumni engagement events and activities, both on and off campus. (e.g., reunions, Homecoming, regional HPU Connects events) to help meet the University’s fundraising and alumni engagement goals.
Develop strategy and execution of all class reunion/affinity reunion planning to include reunion giving and the recruitment, management and training of all volunteers.
Plan, direct and execute all regional programming efforts, including but not limited to recruiting and training volunteers.
Manage the office's strategic communications/marketing platform in regards to event promotion.
Manage digital statistical analysis and tracking.
Manage, plan and execute all activities surrounding the University’s annual Homecoming and Alumni Leadership Weekend event.
Work in conjunction with multiple University offices to coordinate events on campus and other services beneficial to alumni. Includes the offices of admissions, student life, campus enhancement, information technology, career and internship services, security, Aramark catering and communications.
Manage, recruit and train all alumni office volunteers.
Serve as the point of contact for all alumni requests regarding special events, career advancement, visits to campus and other services.
Responsible for the management of portions of the Office of Alumni Engagement’s budget.
Participate in planning meetings, accept special assignments, assist colleagues and provide support for all ongoing programs and operations as needed.
Perform other related duties as required or assigned by the Director of Alumni Engagement and Senior VP for Development.
Accountability:

Report to the Director of Alumni Engagement.
Along with the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Coordinator is accountable for the performance of the overall alumni relations program and its impact on the University’s annual giving campaign and alumni giving percentage.
