The Department of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies seeks applications for a tenure track teaching scholar in Political Science at the rank of Assistant Professo r to begin August 13 th 2018 . This position is part of a rich interdisciplinary department that supports a Political Science minor, graduate certificate, a concentration in the Master’s of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, and several other related baccalaureate and minor programs.

Candidates must be able to teach introductory courses (American National Government and Introduction to Political Science), upper division courses in international relations or comparative politics, and online graduate courses. Other areas of interest are open. Preference will be given to those who can support at least one or more of the following: Social Science major, Latin American Studies minor, Latinx minor and/or have expertise in: Border Studies, Latin American Studies, European Studies and Sustainable Development. A Ph.D. in Political Science or closely related field and a demonstrated ability to teach Political Science and mentor students are required. Candidates that are ABD will be considered with the expectation that the degree will be completed by August 2018.
