Job Description.
The Development intern will work closely with the Development Director and Operations Director on projects including:
Plan, promote, and execute major donor events, including the Wayne Morse Gala
Donor research and prospecting
Grassroots monthly donor membership drives
Data entry and integrity
Attend DPO events and work with guest speakers and elected officials
In addition to the above, DPO interns also help:
Assist and attend staff meetings, trainings, service events and other DPO projects as needed
Perform basic office functions such as answering phones, responding to messages, and data entry
Receive guests and volunteers as they enter the office, answer general questions
Participate in grassroots efforts, such as phone banks, canvasses, and voter registration drives
Required Qualifications.
Previous involvement in a Democratic county party, Democratic candidate campaign, or activism in a progressive cause is preferred
Acute attention to detail is an absolute must
Keen social and critical thinking skills
A passion for Democratic Politics
Ability to work independently
Commitment to maintaining office standards of confidentiality and discretion
Ability to be fluid with job duties and responsibilities
A can-do attitude and enthusiasm for the task at hand
Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
Comfort with making calls and solicitations
An interest in learning about fundraising, compliance with federal election law, event planning and management.
