Job Description.
The ‘Vandermaas for Idaho’ congressional campaign is the chance for finally turning the State of Idaho purple. The 1st District congressional seat is being vacated and there is now an open race. This district, politically & demographically, is very much like S/W PA District 18, and as such, winnable.
We are looking for a Campaign Manager to run a campaign for a very novel candidate whose positions have broad appeal. Idaho is not as red as it thinks it is – at least not it the 1st District. Are you the Campaign Manager who can help make such a change in traditionally red Idaho?

We are building a rather unique grassroots campaign and we need someone who is a motivated self-starter, very knowledgeable, adaptable, comfortable with a ‘team of rivals’ approach, and life both inside & outside the proverbial box. Depending upon our success and your aspirations, this results as either a congressional staff position or a huge feather in cap of your resume.
Responsibilities and Duties
Skills needed include campaign management, ability to manage &/or delegate; subordinates and volunteers, fundraising, social media, marketing, creating campaign plan, data base management, phone banking, canvassing, volunteer recruitment, listening skills, opposition research, issue research, surveying, voter targeting, messaging, press releases, event planning and organizing, overall campaign management duties.

Relevant degree and experience preferred.
congressional campaign: 1-2 Campaigns preferred
We are targeting 2-3+ years of experience in politics and advocacy for this Campaign Manager position.
Must have managed (i.e. congressional, statewide, coordinated), ass’t manager or served as a director on one or more statewide political campaigns.
The ideal candidate is experienced in and adept as a political strategist, relationship manager, and campaign communication tactician. S/he should be experienced in and well-prepared to frame issues, use ‘some’ polling, intuitive and other research to guide advocacy communications, and organize outreach to stakeholders and coalition partners.
Proven experience in managing staff, budgets, internal processes, project & volunteer teams.
Exceptional ability to analyze information, formulate plans, and convey them in writing and through oral presentations. (A writing and presentation test may be requested of finalists.)
Track record of cultivating high-level relationships with political, non-profit advocacy, and philanthropic leaders, with a well-established professional network in politics, government, and political advocacy.
Required language:
English, w/Spanish ‘helpful’
Ability to represent a serious Congressional campaign with maturity, judgment, and professionalism.
